TotalBoating – Reaching Customers on the Water in the J Class

We know where to find you! If you’re like us, you’re under the boat in winter, up ON the boat on stands in the springtime, and we sure hope that you’re out on the water enjoying the fruits of your labor in the summer – especially in these last weeks (the best ones…) of our high season here in the Northeast. Chuck, TotalBoat Chief Dog, and I, took to Narragansett Bay and RI Sound last week for the J Class Worlds, and while they were spectacular to see under sail, it was the delight of seeing hundreds of happy boaters on the water that made us believe our mission for the day was worthwhile.

We set out to find customers amongst the J Class and you did not disappoint. You were happily bobbing in the windless sea, many with the full family and plenty of friends aboard. People were behaving and smiling, waving and gasping in awe as the massive yachts practice sailed right past our bows. Chuck and I happily zoomed around throwing TotalBoat hats to the sweetest boats we could find. And to those with the biggest wave and smile. And you knew us and you knew TotalBoat and JD and our commitment to making sure you spend as much time smiling ON the boat as you spend grimacing under it, was solidified. Smiles galore.

And while the wind was disappointing and filled in very late, by the time we made our way back up the Bay to Bristol, the Herreshoff Classic Yacht Regatta was enjoying about 8 knots of northerly that was just enough for them to also be wearing big smiles. We were able to meet and greet so many people doing what we all love to do (on a work day, making it even sweeter for most), that it really invigorated us and our mission here, which is to provide everything boaters need to enjoy their boats and the craft of building and maintaining them.
