TotalBoat Pure Tung Oil is a traditional penetrating wood finish made with no added solvents or dryers. Unlike film-building finishes that sit on top of the surface, it soaks into the wood to enhance grain and create a low-sheen appearance.

Use it to beautify and restore furniture, cabinetry, turned pieces, cutting boards, serving pieces, trim, restoration work, and suitable outdoor wood. Once fully cured, the finish is non-toxic and food-contact safe, making it a practical choice for charcuterie boards, butcher blocks, wooden utensils, wooden bowls, and other kitchen or dining pieces.

ENRICH THE GRAIN & BUILD WATER RESISTANCE

Pure tung oil penetrates the wood to deepen color, bring out grain patterns, and restore richness to dry or weathered surfaces. Unlike other food-safe finishes that create a surface film, this formula cures within the wood for longer-lasting beauty. The effect varies by wood species, so test on scrap wood or an inconspicuous area first if the final color is important.

Apply 2-5 coats to build the level of water resistance your project needs. Multiple coats and a full cure help protect indoor and outdoor furniture, home decor, serving pieces, and other woodwork from everyday moisture exposure and wear-and-tear. Keep in mind that outdoor surfaces may need periodic maintenance as the finish wears from use and weather.

EASY TO APPLY, MAINTAIN & RENEW

Start with clean, dry, unfinished wood or another suitable porous surface. Apply the tung oil generously with a natural-bristle brush or clean, lint-free cloth, then allow it to penetrate for 30-45 minutes. Wipe away all excess oil so no puddles, glossy areas, or wet spots remain.

Pure tung oil cures more slowly than finishes made with added dryers. Allow at least 7-10 days before light use and 15-25 days for a full cure under warm, dry, well-ventilated conditions. Cooler temperatures, high humidity, or heavier applications will extend cure time.

When the finish begins to look worn or dry, maintenance is simple. Clean the surface, apply a thin maintenance coat, wipe away the excess, and allow it to cure completely before use.
