Apply with a brush, roller, or clean rag. Wipe off excess after 20-30 minutes. That gray, weathered look might be appealing to some, but it can actually hurt the wood and the boat because unprotected teak will break down over time, causing costly leaks plus wood plug and bedding damage.
TotalBoat Danish Teak Sealer saturates wood grain deeply. Simply brush or wipe onto clean, dry teak or other woods after cleaning, let it sink in, wipe away the excess, and let it dry. It’s a small amount of work for a big, beautiful, lasting payoff both in looks and in protecting your investment. Maintaining the finish is simple: Just clean the surface and apply another coat as the wood weathers. An excellent followup treatment after first cleaning or sanding teak.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
What is the difference between teak oil and teak sealers?
Most teak sealers do not penetrate the surface of the wood. Instead, they form a protective layer on top of it that adds UV protection. Sealers generally do not have to be reapplied as often as oil. TotalBoat Danish Teak Sealer penetrates wood like a teak oil, but seals like a conventional sealer. -
Can you use this on wood that had previously been treated with teak oil?
Yes, our Teak Sealer is compatible with most marine teak oils, and may be applied right over them. -
How long does it take until it is dry?
The dry time between coats is approximately 8 to 12 hours. -
How many coats of teak sealer should I apply?
We recommend applying two coats to restore and seal the natural beauty of the wood, providing water-repelling properties without becoming slippery underfoot. -
Does Danish Teak Sealer have a satin or gloss finish?
The finish has a natural golden teak, low-sheen appearance. It is not a high-gloss finish like many varnishes. -
How does the sealer age and will it look spotty on reapplication?
Danish Teak Sealer is a light oil finish that is absorbed into the teak to protect it. A clear indication it is time to re-apply: when it needs recoating, water will not bead upon it. When it’s time to reapply, wash the surface thoroughly, let it dry, and reapply. If the teak wood is gray or has visible stain spots, clean first with Totalboat Teak Cleaner, then apply Teak Sealer. -
Can I spray teak sealer with an HVLP system?
No. Danish Teak Sealer should only be applied with a brush or a clean, lint-free rag. Do not use a spray gun to apply Danish Teak Sealer.
