“Tips From a Shipwright” with Louis Sauzedde & Halsey Fulton

Come join Louis Sauzedde for an evening of Tips from a Shipwright. With over 55 working years as a professional shipwright under his rope-belt, Louis Sauzedde has a lifetime of knowledge when it comes to building and repairing wooden boats. Over the past 5 years, he and filmmaker Halsey Fulton created and host lots of TotalBoat How-To videos on the Youtube page “Tips from a Shipwright” that documents many of Lou’s wooden boat building projects and other how-to videos. The channel has become an inspiration to people of all ages, and with the help of local sponsor Jamestown Distributors and TotalBoat, currently has over 10 millions views and 60k subscribers who tune in weekly to see Lou and his latest tips and tricks.

The Herreshoff Marine Museum’s Annual Lecture Series brings the knowledge of established authors, sailors, and experts directly to the public. Learn from some of the best sailors, writers, historians, and accomplished individuals amongst historic Herreshoff Boats and the America’s Cup Hall of Fame.

  1. Louis-I love the show! I spoke to you at the Museum, and asked you if you knew Rich Cottrell from Tiverton. Having worked on the trap boats out of Sakonnet PT. and Newport, I was wondering if you had ever worked “trappin'”, and knew any of the fishermen from these ports.
