Prepping & Painting the Hull of the Black Watch 26

Inside the TotalBoat Workshop, proper preparation is key to all big projects coming to an ending to be proud of. And since we are testing and working to find products that perform best, dry faster and harder and go on easily – proper preparation is paramount!  In this project, Mike Mills’ Black Watch 26 needed repainting of the topsides, so it was a great opportunity to put the 2-Part Epoxy Primer to the test.

There are many steps to preparing a boat for this big undertaking. It’s not a hard job once you have the pieces you need for the job and a good understanding of the process. But there are some very vital parts of the process that we show you in this video series, which can make your paint job a big success or an epic fail.

Watch Brendan from Waterman Marine preps and paints the hull of this BlackWatch 26 for a total makeover. It starts with some TotalBoat Surface Prep and DeWaxer and goes from there…. and in the end, Mike’s Black Watch looks like a brand new boat.

Enjoy!
